7th Fire Awakening Tour

Today is the day I am personally delivering invitations for our OPEN HOUSE on Saturday October 27, 2007 at our new location here in the tranquil community of Port Loring. Tem Gaak Naagdo Wend Mowin translation from the Ojibway Language to the English language a place for understanding and taking care of one another. We have a variety of activities happening starting at 10:00 am until the evening. I am travelling in a sacred circle to the communities which will include:

Day 1: Rama Mijikining FN, Orillia, Barrie Native Friendship Centre Day 2: Midland, Georgian Bay Native Friendship Centre, Wahta, Moose Deer Point FN, Wasauksing FN, Parry Sound Native Friendship Centre Day 3: Shawanaga FN, Magnetawan FN, Henvey Inlet, N'Swakamok Native Friendship Centre Day 4: Sturgeon Falls Metis Org., Nipissing FN., Union of Ontario Indians, and North Bay Native Friendship Centre.

I believe that we are now in the time of the Seventh Fire we must address the high rate of suicide among our first nations youth." In the Seventh Fire prophecy of the Anishnabe, each of the seven fires represents an era in human history. Here at our new place we rely on donations and volunteers to implement our Native Culture based Healing and Wellness services. We do not receive funding from the government along with my Aboriginal Care Team we have created a unique culture based program which addresses issues surrounding Native Youth who are experiencing Cultural & Spiritual Loss of Identity, Justice, Addictions, Family Breakdown, and Intergenerational Trauma.

William Commanda of Maniwaki, a highly respected Algonquin elder, holds three wampum belts, one of which is the Seventh Fire Prophecy belt which was made in the 1400s. His family, has held the belts for over 100 years

"It's everyone's responsibility to add another log to this 7th Fire Prophecy Awareness awakening to all races of people that we have to work together in cooperation for the wellbeing of our children, youth and families. We need your HELP as we cannot do this on our own but collectively we have the ability to make positive change towards the future."

This is the time of the falling Leaves Moon a time that we offer our Tobacco to the ancestors for bringing us to this time to celebrate our existence as native people. It is our responsibility to keep this fire going. Everyone that comes adds another piece of wood to this fire out of respect for the ancestors.
